May 2022: Events on the Land Sanctuary

Greetings from Ojai,

We hope this letter finds you well and in the full bloom of spring wherever you are. We are writing to share an important announcement, and to welcome you to some events this May:

The June 25–26 Clopening Ceremony—marking completion of our tenure on the ridge—is canceled. This ceremony was intended as a marking for a multi-year process that we have been in, with you and many others. And, in recent weeks, this process and timeline have changed. In the coming weeks, we will offer a fuller story—to the best of our ability—of how and why, and what lies ahead. In the meantime, given how soon the ceremony was to be, we wanted to make this announcement as quickly as possible. We offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

And, there is plenty still afoot… Please see the events listed in this newsletter, including: Blk Crcl, the Council Trainer Confirmation Ceremony, and a new collaboration with the Be Here Now Network. And, keep an eye out for the Council and Social Equity Report, coming very soon in a separate newsletter.

With gratitude and humility,

Brendan, Shay & David
The Executive Stewardship Circle

Drumroll Please… Podcast Coming Soon

We have been invited to curate a guest podcast by the Be Here Now Network, a network of mindfulness and spirituality podcasts inspired by Ram Dass’ teachings. Our podcast, The Ojai Foundation: Under the Teaching Tree, will feature wisdom teachers who have shared their teachings with the land and community of The Ojai Foundation, including  Joanna Macy, Thich Nhat Hanh and Joan Halifax. This podcast is one way for us to continue to pay forward the gifts that we have received, to express our gratitude to the many teachers who have gifted us with their timeless wisdom, and practices and guidance for our times. Stay tuned for the first episodes, scheduled for release later this year.
