Greetings,

Please join us for the first public welcome at The Ojai Foundation since the Thomas Fire on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This humble celebration will be a time to gather in community, walk the land, share a meal, sit in council under the Teaching Tree, and give thanks. Together we will take stock of what has happened since the Thomas Fire and appreciate the many people who have contributed resources, time, and labor since our forced closure in December 2017. Held around the auspicious time of the Spring Equinox, this day is intended to support a prayer for our future and our vision of balance and well-being for all. For more information and a full schedule of the day, visit our website

Lunch will be provided for registered attendees. Families welcome. $15 suggested minimum donation per person to pay for lunch. Visit our website to register.

After March 21, 2020, TOF will resume public visiting hours. Spring open hours will be Wednesday through Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, except when we  are closed for Retreat. Visit our website for closure dates and more information.

With gratitude,

Meet Ben

Ben joined the team at The Ojai Foundation for the winter and spring to help with special projects. For the last six years he has worked with the National Outdoor Leadership School as a guide and educator, and also has a background in tree care, natural building, and permaculture.

Hello TOF Community,

It is an honor to work at The Ojai Foundation and I am grateful to spend time working on the trees in recovery from the Thomas Fire. The beauty and stillness of  land that has been deeply cared for and loved over the generations continues to guide and inform my understanding of stewardship and care-taking for place – a reciprocal relationship that is expanding my awareness and appreciation for interconnectedness of living systems. I am also grateful to work with a community of people who honor the land and all its inhabitants in such respect and reverence, as well as the opportunity to live and practice council in the workplace. For me, The Ojai Foundation offers refuge, sanctuary, and an invitation to slow down in these fast-paced and uncertain times. Gratitude to the many hands and hearts who have participated in creating this special place!
