The Council House
The Council House, our magnificent light-filled 12-sided hall, with its radiant-heated wood floor, living roof and expansive views, provides the perfect cozy nest for yoga, council, ceremony, meditation, dance, workshops and more.  The architecture, based on sacred geometry principles, creates an atmosphere of peace, serenity and balance. The spacious, elegant gathering space has its own internal sound system to interface with your audio media.  The hall comfortably accommodates a full circle of 60 people or over 120 for row seating. There are two ADA compliant restrooms as well as one handicap parking spot.

Programming Offered
Our central programming focus is the Way of Council. In addition to renting our facilities, for an additional fee, our staff can facilitate council-based practices and ceremony, alone time on the Land, art projects, sweat ceremony and permaculture programs as part of your group retreat. We also have a ropes course situated in our beautiful oak grove overlooking the neighboring Topa Topa mountain range.

Accommodations
Sleeping facilities are simple and rustic, in the style of a private camp in a semi-wilderness setting, with shared bathhouses, hot showers and flush toilets. We have a variety of yurts and domes.

Our geodesic domes have fabric walls, wooden plank flooring, zipper-flap entry doors and are roughly15 feet in diameter.  Our yurts are more home-like with thicker walls, wooden plank flooring and a conventional swinging wooden door. You can stand up in both and all structures have solar-powered 12-volt lighting. All yurts and most domes include futon beds on frames. Most of our structures are designed for shared accommodation, although a few are best suited for couples or singles. We ask that you bring your own bedding.

In addition to yurts and domes our facilities include two community vegetarian kitchens, our spacious and versatile Council House, indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, sweat ceremony area, tipi, gardens, a labyrinth and two outdoor hearths. Your group may also join our community for daily morning meditation.

We always welcome and are interested in working with groups and organizations carrying a mission resonant with ours. We are excited about the possibility of working with you! Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

THE MISSION of The Ojai Foundation is to foster practices that awaken connection with self, others and the natural world.
