Title:  Lead Storyteller and Marketing Generalist

Hours:  30 hours per week, including weekends, holidays & evenings as needed for the position.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for marketing and communications for the organization as a whole, including both internal and external programing and communications. In addition, this position will assist in strategically directing all revenue-generating marketing and advertising efforts in both business development and public programming and have significant responsibilities in planning, branding, messaging and organizational positioning in order to communicate TOF’s mission to a broader audience and new markets as appropriate.  


  • Collaborating with internal teams to create a clear, consistent and timely advertising and marketing message to the public.

  • Visioning, implementing and tracking internal marketing plan and calendar.

  • Sets strategy and cohesion between Marketing outreach and Development outreach.

  • Develop and implement overall branding, marketing and advertising campaign as appropriate, for promotion of individual initiatives and TOF as a whole (could include advertising, social media, e-marketing and other communications tactics to drive TOF program participation and to reach new audiences.)

  • Manage the production and distribution of new and/or existing print materials. Works closely with Graphic Designer on design of marketing materials.

  • Implement TOF marketing outreach in person at schools, businesses, and other organizations.

  • Manage website development for TOF as necessary.

  • Define marketing initiative outcomes. Track, measure and communicate results to board members, and staff.

  • Assist Executive Director in donor outreach and fundraising; assist initiatives with developing materials and verbiage for fundraising and grant writing.

  • Create, write and design monthly e-newsletters and appeals in conjunction with Development and internal priorities.

  • Attend and represent TOF at external community events in Ojai and other locations as needed.

  • Create and implement an archival process for all Marketing materials.


  • Understands and can communicate the mission of The Ojai Foundation.

  • Background and understanding in branding and consumer marketing.

  • Proficiency in Constant Contact, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Etapestry, Drupal/Word Press, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM.

  • Willingness to practice, teach and live the Beauty Way, and TOF’s Community Intentions.

  • Has a basic understanding of Eastern Philosophy or willingness to learn.

  • Works well individually & as part of a team in a community environment, and enjoys the joys and challenges of living in community with others. Willingness to participate in TOF community functions and trainings.
